Have you ever paused to reflect on the truth that you are a gift? Not just a collection of talents, dreams, or roles you fulfill, but a unique, irreplaceable gift from God to the world. In a time where so much pulls at our attention—work, family, social media, and the pressures of daily life—it’s easy to lose sight of this profound reality.
Yet, when God created you, He did so with intention, purpose, and love. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that "we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works." You are not here by accident. You carry within you the ability to love, inspire, and make a difference in ways no one else can. Just as each member of our St. Josephine Bakhita community plays a unique role in our shared mission to worship, evangelize, and serve, your personal contributions are a gift to this world.
Consider this: the way you comfort a friend, the way you care for your family, the smile you offer a stranger, the talents you use in your work or ministry—these are all reflections of the divine love God placed inside you. Even in times when you may feel inadequate or overlooked, remember that God sees your worth and knows the beauty you bring into the lives of others.
You have something precious to offer. Whether it’s a word of encouragement, a kind gesture, or simply showing up for someone in need, you embody the love and grace of our Creator. As part of this faith community, you’re not just a participant—you are vital to our collective mission. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ, but it starts with each of us recognizing the gift we are.
Take time today to acknowledge your value. Know that the world is better because of you. At St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, we believe that every person is a cherished part of the Body of Christ, a necessary gift to the Church and to the world. Let’s continue to lift one another up, celebrating the uniqueness of each person, and embracing our call to serve, love, and live boldly in the Spirit.
You are a gift. Let’s share it together.
