Lent is more than just a time to give up sweets or stay off social media—it’s a time to grow, reflect, and reset. It’s a season that invites us to look inward and ask: How can I be better? How can I love more? How can I be closer to God?
Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, fasting, praying, and preparing for His mission. He faced temptation, hunger, and loneliness—but He also found strength in God. And if we’re honest, we all have our own deserts—the struggles, distractions, and moments when we feel far from God. But here’s the good news: Lent is not about perfection. It’s about intention. It’s about making space in our hearts for God to move.
So, what should you do this Lent?
Pray—Honestly. Prayer doesn’t have to be formal or complicated. Talk to God like you would a friend. Tell Him your struggles, your dreams, your doubts. And then… listen. Silence is powerful. God speaks in the quiet moments.
Fast—With Purpose. Fasting isn’t just about giving something up; it’s about making room for something greater. Maybe you fast from negativity, gossip, or self-doubt. Maybe you choose to let go of habits that pull you away from the person God created you to be.
Give—With Love. Giving isn’t just about money—it’s about time, kindness, and presence. Be there for a friend. Serve someone in need. Forgive that person who hurt you. Love the way Jesus loves.
Lent is not about punishment—it’s about preparation. It’s about becoming stronger, more loving, and more aware of God’s presence in our lives. And the best part? You’re not walking this journey alone. God is with you, cheering you on, loving you through every step.
So this Lent, don’t just go through the motions. Make it real. Make it meaningful. Let it change you. Because at the end of these 40 days, there’s an empty tomb, a risen Savior, and the reminder that God’s love is bigger than anything we could ever imagine. Lean in. Trust. And let this season bring you closer to Him.
